This month’s spotlighted VADA member is Britton Wight of Harman Claytor Corrigan & Wellman in Alexandria.  Britton is a graduate of Louisiana State University and Tulane University School of Law.  He currently serves as Director of VADA’s Potomac Region.

 

 

1.         Where were you born?

Baton Rouge, LA.

2.         Tell us a little about yourself.  Spouse? Children? Pets?

Married with a dog. I think we’re called “DINKWADs.”

3.         What type of law do you practice?

General liability defense: auto, premises, toxic tort, construction, etc.

4.         How long have you been a member of VADA?

Seven years.

5.         What have you enjoyed most about your time in VADA?

The collegiality. VADA members are always ready and willing to share information, expert recommendations, and thoughts on defense strategy.

6.         What made you decide to become an attorney?

I wanted to stand up for the little guy … and now I represent the big guys.

7.         What book is currently on your bedside table?

Empire of the Summer Moon by S.C. Gwynne.

8.         What is your favorite food and drink?

Hot boiled crawfish and cold beer.

9.         What is your favorite movie or television quote?

Mine’s not from either: “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.” – Dr. Seuss.

10.       What is the last live concert you attended?

Dave Matthews Band.

11.       What is at the top of your bucket list?

Trying to visit at least one new country per year.

12.       What is your favorite travel spot?

Argentina.

13.       What was the make and model of your first car?

Toyota Tacoma.

14.       What is your courtroom walk up music?

“Careless Whisper” by George Michael.

An LSU football helmet.  Geaux Tigers!

Spend time in the great outdoors.

A restaurant critic.

18.       What is your idea of the perfect weekend?

Spending time with people I care about.

19.       Who is the most famous or interesting person you have ever met?

Shaquille O’Neal.

20.       What is your definition of success?

Leaving the world a better place than you found it.
